Heritage Fresh Philosophy

From the Farm.
Into Every Jar.

Every Barn & Vine recipe begins with heritage-fresh, vine-ripened tomatoes harvested at the peak of flavor. From there, we simply try not to get in their way. We slow-simmer every batch with extra virgin olive oil and thoughtfully chosen ingredients so the harvest remains the hero.

Because when ingredients begin at their best, they don’t need much else.

The best recipes don't hide great ingredients. They celebrate them.

That's what drew me to Barn & Vine Farms. We share the belief that when tomatoes are harvested at their peak and paired with thoughtfully chosen ingredients, they don't need much else.

Every recipe you'll find here was created to let those ingredients shine. Whether it's a comforting bowl of rigatoni, a quick weeknight dinner, or a fresh family favorite, my goal is always the same: simple recipes that bring people together around the table.

I hope these recipes inspire you to cook often, gather generously, and enjoy every bite.

Ask the Health Coach

Good food, quietly nourishing.

A short conversation with Missy about the small, everyday reasons a good jar of tomato sauce belongs in a healthy pantry.

Q · 01

Why is tomato sauce actually good for us?

Cooked tomatoes are one of the richest dietary sources of lycopene — a carotenoid antioxidant that becomes more bioavailable when tomatoes are simmered slowly and paired with a good fat like olive oil. That's why a jar of proper marinara is quietly one of the most nourishing things in a pantry.

Q · 02

What should I look for on the label?

Three things: real tomatoes at the top of the list, extra virgin olive oil rather than seed oils, and no added sugar or gums. If a sauce reads like a short recipe, it will usually taste — and feel — better in the body than one that reads like a formula.

Q · 03

Is pasta night compatible with eating well?

Absolutely. Build the bowl like a Mediterranean plate: a modest amount of a good pasta, a generous ladle of vegetable-forward sauce, olive oil, herbs, and a green salad alongside. Add a lean protein — beans, chicken, fish — and you've built a genuinely balanced supper.

Q · 04

One small habit that changes everything?

Warm the sauce gently in a wide pan and toss the pasta in it for a full minute before serving. It sounds like nothing — but that final minute lets the sauce coat every noodle, so you eat less and feel more satisfied. Slow food, in the most literal sense.

Wellness notes — not medical advice.
